Launched in 2020, Orla Vera is a luxury, sustainable accessories brand that offers high-quality, low waste pieces that are renowned or their beauty and durability. Founded by  Orla O’ Hagan in the midst of the global pandemic, Orla Vera Accessories has grown an international audience as an emerging brand in celebrating sustainable Irish design.

 

After completing a first class honours degree in Footwear & Accessories design from De Montfort University, Leicester, our founder Orla Vera continued her design journey by joining high-end London based accessories brand, Sophia Webster. Here, she cultivated a further finesse in all things footwear, accessories and small leather goods.

Following 2 years as part of this highly established design team, Orla Vera’s job was made redundant due to the global pandemic and she returned home from London to the scenic hills of Donegal. Using this unique opportunity to combine her seasoned practise, she quickly turned her attention to her own brand and Orla Vera Accessories was born.

Orla Vera Accessories aims to offer luxury leather product with a sustainable message. Having noticed the huge volumes of waste produced in the industry, Orla Vera works exclusively with sustainably-sourced remnant or end of line leather to create timeless pieces for you to enjoy, without the heavy environmental cost. By repurposing materials that would otherwise end in landfill, Orla Vera Accessories represents a new age in Irish design, working to close the loop and inspire a “new norm” within the fashion world.
